Apprenticeship is a combination of on-the-job training and related classroom instruction in which student/workers learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupation. This is a four course program that ultimately will lead you to attaining your HVAC/R contractor’s license. Our County Apprenticeship Coordinator, Peter Bedell, facilitates your registration with the Department of Labor so that you may enjoy the benefits of a quality training program supported by this government agency.
You may be eligible for advanced standing if you have on-the-job experience, vocational school training and/or military background.

Your instructors, who are experts in the field, introduce and review topics as necessary to ensure you develop sound theory and safety skills, within code and with efficiency. Most classes are theory/code based with occasional shop demonstrations and guest lecturers or field trips.

Apprenticeship instruction is meant to supplement your job experience. If you are not working with a licensed professional, the school will provide job leads when available, but it is the student’s responsibility to have an employer to sponsor him/her for official apprentice registration with the Department of Labor.
