TEST OVERVIEW
- Morris County Vocational School District is an official HiSET High School Equivalency Testing Center.
- The High School Equivalency test is a two (2-3) day examination, which upon passing, allows an individual to receive a state issued high school diploma.
- Special testing accommodations are available upon request in advance with approval through HiSET at https://hiset.org/test-takers-faqs/
ELIGIBILITY
- You must be a resident of New Jersey
- You must be at least *16 years old & officially withdrawn from school* (see more info below)
- You have not graduated from an accredited high school or received a high school equivalency certificate or diploma
- State requirements to take the exam at https://hiset.org/test-takers-requirements/
IMPORTANT INFORMATION for *16 – 17 Year Old Testers:
- Testers aged 16-17 years old must submit a properly authorized Certification of Consent to Participate Form
- *16 and 17 year old testers must submit the following documents, ETC.:
- A properly authorized Consent Form
- In order to ensure the authenticity of the consent, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the 16 or 17 year old tester on the first day of testing prior to signing in.
- The parent/guardian (with same last name) must provide a photo ID as proof of their relationship to the tester.
- If the parent/guardian’s last name is different from the minor tester’s last name, the parent/guardian must provide PHOTO ID and the minor tester’s birth certificate.
- The parent/guardian must sign the consent form prior to testing.
- If the parent or guardian is not able to accompany the 16 or 17 year old tester, the parent/guardian signature on the form must be notarized.
IDENTIFICATION TO PROVIDE at TEST CENTER
- PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (can be any of the following)
- NJ Driver’s license, driving permit OR non-driver's ID
- Passport
- Voter Registration
- School/college ID
- Employee ID
- Other photo identification, valid or expired, that has been issued by a public or private third party
- SECOND IDENTIFICATION (if needed, or requested by the test center to verify NJ address or date of birth)
- Property tax bills, deeds; contracts of sale; leases; mortgages; signed letters from landlords; or other evidence of property ownership, tenancy or residency
- Utility bills, delivery receipts
- Court orders, state agency agreements, etc
- Receipts, bills, cancelled checks, insurance claims or payments that demonstrate the test taker’s residency
- Affidavits, certifications from parent, guardian, etc with whom a family is living
- Documents pertaining to military status, assignment
- Any other business record or document issued by a government entity
- Birth certificate

· $10.00 per subject for first two re-tests
$20.75 per subject for subsequent re-tests
