PATIENT CARE TECHNICIANS are allied health professionals who provide direct patient care obtaining vial signs, communicating with family, assisting with activities of daily living, complying with confidentiality requirements, and performing ECGs and phlebotomy tasks. TO BECOME a Patient Care Technician you need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, hold a current/valid CNA certification, complete both EKG and Phlebotomy courses and successfully pass the PCT certification exam.
