Each year of the Electrical apprentice program builds toward licensing readiness. The topics covered in this first-year class include electrical safety, introduction to circuits, device boxes, hand bending, raceways, fittings, conductors, cables and residential services. Every year includes attention to the National Electrical Code and reading electrical construction drawings. Textbooks are not included in tuition.
PREREQUISITES: High school/state diploma, postsecondary diploma, certificate or transcript. Students should be working in the field with a registered sponsor. Access to the Internet is necessary as some percentage of class is conducted online.
